A short time ago, Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Muslim World to boycott anything and everything that originates with the Jewish people.
In response, Meyer M. Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to assist them in their boycott as follows:
"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Ehrlich. He should not even try to find out whether he has Syphilis, because the Wasserman Test is the discovery of a Jew.
If a Muslim suspects that he has Gonorrhea, he must not seek diagnosis, because he will be using the method of a Jew named Neissner.
"A Muslim who has heart disease must not use Digitalis, a discovery by a Jew, Ludwig Traube.
Should he suffer with a toothache, he must not use Novocaine, a discovery of the Jews, Widal and Weil.
If a Muslim has Diabetes, he must not use Insulin, the result of research by Minkowsky, a Jew. If one has a headache, he must shun Pyramidon and Antypyrin, due to the Jews, Spiro and Ellege.
Muslims with convulsions must put up with them because it was a Jew, Oscar Leibreich, who proposed the use of Chloral Hydrate.
Arabs must do likewise with their psychic ailments because Freud, father of psychoanalysis, was a Jew.
Should a Muslim child get Diphtheria, he must refrain from the "Schick" reaction which was invented by the Jew, Bella Schick.
"Muslims should be ready to die in great numbers and must not permit treatment of ear and brain damage, work of Nobel Prize winner, Robert Baram.
They should continue to die or remain crippled by Infantile Paralysis because the discoverer of the anti-polio vaccine is a Jew, Jonas Salk.
"Muslims must refuse to use Streptomycin and continue to die of Tuberculosis because a Jew, Zalman Waxman, invented the wonder drug against this killing disease.

270 million
Thomas Sowell [Thomas Sowell, Race and Culture, BasicBooks, 1994, p. 188] estimates that 11 million slaves were shipped across the Atlantic and 14 million were sent to the Islamic nations of North Africa and the Middle East. For every slave captured many others died. Estimates of this collateral damage vary. The renowned missionary David Livingstone estimated that for every slave who reached a plantation, five others were killed in the initial raid or died of illness and privation on the forced march.[Woman’s Presbyterian Board of Missions, David Livingstone, p. 62, 1888] Those who were left behind were the very young, the weak, the sick and the old. These soon died since the main providers had been killed or enslaved. So, for 25 million slaves delivered to the market, we have an estimated death of about 120 million people. Islam ran the wholesale slave trade in Africa.

Ukelele
Wags are pointing out the name of the Local Registrar on Obama's alleged birth certificate is "U K L Lee" and is laughingly similar to Ukelele. Aloha, ha, ha, ha. Critics are saying it is an unlikely name and wonder if it is...Stupidity, or criminal arrogance?
Here is an analysis of Obama's COLB. And here is another.
The Chicago Tribune reports that fire-breathing Father Pfleger is out of a job. "Citing what he called threats from the Rev. Maybe President Obama’s next memoir should be titled: Sins From My Father...The crowd that clucked its tongues over Bristol Palin's pregnancy "unmarried and having unprotected sex!" might want to do some math on Obama's birth. Mom was 18 and 2 months pregnant when she married Dad -- and Dad already had a wife. President Obama Jimmy Carter is blaming South Korea for famine in North Korea. Critics in South Korea were stunned that Carter appeared to ignore the Kim Jong-il regime’s responsibility for egregious violation of human rights including the operation of concentration camps, public executions and torture but accused Seoul of violating North Korean rights.

Gay Marines
From Yahoo news...Marines get trained on accepting gay recruits
If a Marine spots two men in his battalion kissing off-duty at a shopping mall, he should react as if he were seeing a man and woman. If he turns on the television news to see a fellow Marine dressed as a civilian and marching in a parade with a banner that reads, "Support Gays and Lesbians in the Military!" he should accept it as a free right of expression. So, support for gays and lesbians in the military is a free right of expression. But non-support is discrimination and harassment. Progressives have all the bases covered. Has the first amendment been rescinded or what?
...
There is nothing wrong with "hanging around" a gay bar, the materials state. The officer who witnesses the loud locker-room banter aimed at gays and lesbians should remind the Marines any discrimination or harassment is inappropriate.

Calling animals "pets" is insulting, academics claim.
Animal lovers should stop calling their furry or feathered friends "pets" because the term is insulting, leading academics claim.
Domestic dogs, cats, hamsters or budgerigars should be rebranded as "companion animals" while owners should be known as "human carers", they insist.
Even terms such as wildlife are dismissed as insulting to the animals concerned who should instead be known as "free-living", the academics including an Oxford professor suggest.

Hamas and Fatah merge
For years, under Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, America spent billions training and arming the P.L.O.’s Fatah police and government, as some sort of "preferred," "moderate" terrorist group versus HAMAS. But, today, as I’ve always argued would happen, HAMAS and Fatah announced their merger. Source

A terrible country
"Sweden is now in a terrible state, and the country can hardly be considered a proper democracy any more. The PC censorship is formidable, and there is widespread persecution, sometimes violent, of opponents. While hostile groups of immigrants are turning an increasing number of suburbs into no-go zones, the main concern of the ruling elites apparently is to figure out how to prevent the Swedish people from putting and end to the continued destruction of their country. The situation in Sweden is a disgrace not only to themselves and Scandinavia, but to the entire Western world." Source

The European states are now faced with problems which their rulers have no idea how to solve. So instead of admitting that they have failed, they choose to silence those who point out that there are problems."

According to the Green Liaison news group, over the past year and a half the Bushehr plant has incurred serious damage and has lost major capabilities.

The new preacher
The media stood and applauded yesterday when President Obama and his family went to church for Easter. Yesterday’s visit to Shiloh Baptist Church in D.C. shows again that Obama really is a man of faith, the reports seem to suggest.
But while the media rushed to report on the first family’s attendance of the predominately black congregation (and the family’s outfits), what it failed to mention are the views held by the church’s pastor. And while those views have not been delivered in the same fiery manner as Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, they sound eerily familiar.

57 Nations
The 57 states nations of the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) represent 22 percent of the world population, have 2 percent of the world`s GDP, 1.3 percent of the world trade and only 1.5 percent of the investments. Twenty five percent of OIC population does not have access to medical facilities or safe drinking water. Half of the population lives below the poverty line classified as the most poor. The OIC member countries possess 70 percent of the world`s energy resources and 40 percent of available raw material but their GDP is only 5 percent of the world GDP.
Here in America, we have now reached a point where half the population pays no income tax. More money was borrowed in February than in all of "Bush did it" 2007. Half the population also receives some sort of federal pay or entitlement. For a quarter of the population, federal money is about their only source of income. Some may vote on the basis of worrying over deficits; but others may vote on the basis of whether checks are cut off and reduced — or instead maintained and increased. Source
Doesn't this seem odd?..."Nearly a decade into the war in Afghanistan, opium poppies are still the major crop for many farmers and a big source of income for the Taliban despite expensive efforts to stamp out cultivation."
Haley Barbour dropped out of the presidential race...as if he was really in the race to begin with. He might have gotten a few votes in Mississippi though. The mainstream media was salivating over the thought of big bully, Barbour, running against a poor, helpless black. The Boss Hogg comparisons would have been hilarious.

The Queen has invited the leaders of Bahrain, Swaziland, and Saudi Arabia -- all of who preside over severe human rights abuses, including the repression of protests -- but for some odd reason the Obamas still didn't make the list... Khadafy was invited, but his invitation was rescinded...I kid you not. Why do I think the Obamas weren't invited? Well, you know, we can only wild-guess this. It might have to do with the fact that the Queen didn't really appreciate all those speeches on the iPod that he gave her. It could be that the Queen wasn't particularly fond of Obama ditching the Churchill bust in the first ten minutes he was president, throwing it out of the Oval Office and giving it back to the Brits, not relocating it at some American museum. It could well be that she was offended that the Obama gift to the Prime Minister was 25 DVDs of American movies recorded for Region 1, which means they won't even play on the Prime Minister's DVD system in the UK.
Why I live in the country...Yahoo News reports "A brawl involving cricket bats and small swords at a Sikh temple in New York City has led to riot and assault charges against seven people."

Westboro morons
On Saturday USMC Staff Sgt. Jason Rogers, who was killed in action in Afghanistan April 7, was buried in Brandon, Mississippi...when Sgt. Rogers’ body returned to Brandon it was greeted by hundreds, or perhaps even thousands, of well-wishers who gathered at the roadside to honor the fallen American hero...the troglodytes from Westboro Baptist Church had threatened to spew their poison at Sgt. Rogers’ funeral...A couple of days before, one of them (Westboro protestors) ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened...Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out...A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business...Fred Phelps, the disbarred lawyer and Democrat activist who leads the Westboro congregation, will undoubtedly pursue some form of legal action for the way his people were thwarted in Brandon. Let him try. There isn’t a jury in Mississippi which will see things his way.

Anti-science
Ring wingers are often accused of being anti-science. So is there a case study of science denial that largely occupies the political left? Yes: the claim that childhood vaccines are causing an epidemic of autism. Its most famous proponents are an environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and numerous Hollywood celebrities (most notably Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey). The Huffington Post gives a very large megaphone to denialists. And Seth Mnookin, author of the new book The Panic Virus, notes that if you want to find vaccine deniers, all you need to do is go hang out at Whole Foods. Source
Elsewhere, from the website, Newsbusters..."On Friday, the Huffington Post's Howard Fineman actually told MSNBC's Lawrence Donnell that the Republicans and Congress are so poorly regarded, that the whole system is so poorly regarded, it drags everybody down, including the president." Ha.
Ever hear of an ASBO? In Britain it is an Anti-Social Behaviour Order. ASBOs have been used repeatedly against members of the right wing English Defence League to restrict their activities and keep them from participating in demonstrations. Left wingers are exempt from ASBOs, of course. (coming soon to America?)
When brainwashers spoke to Germans after the war, as part of efforts to "psychoanalyze'' the Nazi experience, they found few remembered any specific content in Hitler's speeches. Almost all could remember being part of the experience, if they were in attendance, and most remembered the "excitement'' in listening to them on the radio. The words 'hypnotic'' and "mesmerizing'' were the most used to describe the Fuehrer's voice. Even some people who professed to have disagreed with the Nazis grudgingly claimed that Hitler was a "a spellbinding speaker.''
"Secular historians given access to the Vatican's archives in 1998 discovered that of the 44,674 individuals tried between 1540 and 1700, only 804 were recorded as being relictus culiae saeculari. The 763-page report indicates that only 1 percent of the 125,000 trials recorded over the entire inquisition ultimately resulted in execution by the secular authority, which means that throughout its infamous 345-year history, the dread Spanish Inquisition was less than one-fourteenth as deadly on an annual basis as children's bicycles." California, moreover, is more expensive than other states. GAO auditors estimated California spends $34,000 to incarcerate a criminal alien for one year; in Texas, it’s only $12,000." Source

Ernesto Guevara
"The U.S. is the great enemy of mankind!" raved Ernesto "Che" Guevara in 1961. "Against those hyenas there is no option but extermination. We will bring the war to the imperialist enemies' very home, to his places of work and recreation. The imperialist enemy must feel like a hunted animal wherever he moves. Thus we'll destroy him! We must keep our hatred against them (the U.S.) alive and fan it to paroxysms!" […]
On November 17, 1962, J Edgar Hoover's FBI discovered that Che Guevara's bombast had substance. They infiltrated and cracked a plot by Cuban agents that targeted Macy's, Gimbel's, Bloomingdale's and Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal with a dozen incendiary devices and 500 kilos of TNT. The holocaust was set to go off the following week, the day after Thanksgiving. Che Guevara was the head of Cuba's "Foreign Liberation Department" at the time.
A little perspective: for their March 2004 Madrid subway blasts, all 10 of them, that killed and maimed almost 2000 people, al-Qaida used a grand total of 100 kilos of TNT. Castro and Che's agents planned to set off five times that explosive power in some of the biggest department stores on earth, all packed to suffocation and pulsing with holiday cheer on the year's biggest shopping day. […]
"The solutions to the world's problems lie behind the Iron Curtain," stressed Ernesto "Che" Guevara who often signed his correspondence with the moniker "Stalin II." "If the nuclear missiles had remained we would have fired them against the heart of the U.S. including New York City," he boasted. "The victory of socialism is well worth millions of atomic victims."

Obama is getting tough (or something)...
"The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the use of force by the Syrian government against demonstrators," Obama said in a statement on Friday. "This outrageous use of violence to quell protests must come to an end now."
Obama likes that word "must." Mubarak must resign; Qaddafi must go; Assad must stop shooting Syrians. Evidently he thinks that if he can command the oceans, commanding Arab dictators is a breeze. The Washington Post wasn't impressed, however. Its editorial condemned President Obama's "shameful inaction" on Syria...
Source
Best quote from story...
"The administration's reluctance to take a hard line on Syria is no coincidence. The core principle of the administration's foreign policy is to be unlike George W. Bush whenever possible. Bush was tough on Syria, so the Democrats have long sought to cozy up to Assad to demonstrate the superiority of supplication over military strength as the basis of foreign policy."

Dollar is tanking
From the Wall Street Journal...
The U.S. dollar's downward slide is accelerating as low interest rates, inflation concerns and the massive federal budget deficit undermine the currency.
With no relief in sight for the dollar on any of those fronts, the downward pressure on the dollar is widely expected to continue.
The dollar fell nearly 1% against a broad basket of currencies this week, following a drop of similar size last week. The ICE U.S. Dollar Index closed at its lowest level since August 2008, before the financial crisis intensified.

China in Africa
"I have been to many continents and nowhere was the welcome as warm," he says. Strangers congratulated him on his homeland’s high-octane engagement with developing countries. China is Africa’s biggest trading partner and buys more than one-third of its oil from the continent. Its money has paid for countless new schools and hospitals. Locals proudly told Mr Zhu that China had done more to end poverty than any other country.
He still finds business is good, perhaps even better than last time. But African attitudes have changed. His partners say he is ripping them off. Chinese goods are held up as examples of shoddy work. Politics has crept into encounters. The word "colonial" is bandied about. Children jeer and their parents whisper about street dogs disappearing into cooking pots.
Once feted as saviours in much of Africa, Chinese have come to be viewed with mixed feelings—especially in smaller countries where China’s weight is felt all the more. To blame, in part, are poor business practices imported alongside goods and services. Chinese construction work can be slapdash and buildings erected by mainland firms have on occasion fallen apart. A hospital in Luanda, the capital of Angola, was opened with great fanfare but cracks appeared in the walls within a few months and it soon closed. The Chinese-built road from Lusaka, Zambia’s capital, to Chirundu, 130km (81 miles) to the south-east, was quickly swept away by rains.
Chinese expatriates in Africa come from a rough-and-tumble, anything-goes business culture that cares little about rules and regulations. Local sensitivities are routinely ignored at home, and so abroad. Sinopec, an oil firm, has explored in a Gabonese national park. Another state oil company has created lakes of spilled crude in Sudan. Zimbabwe's environment minister said Chinese multinationals were "operating like makorokoza miners", a scornful term for illegal gold-panners.

Birthers
Everyone knows that ignorant, racist Republicans started the Birther rumors, right? No, it was actually the Democrats. The birther rumor first emerged in the spring of 2008, as Clinton supporters circulated an anonymous email questioning Obama’s citizenship. "Barack Obama’s mother was living in Kenya with his Arab-African father late in her pregnancy. She was not allowed to travel by plane then, so Barack Obama was born there and his mother then took him to Hawaii to register his birth," asserted one chain email that surfaced on the urban legend site Snopes.com in April 2008. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age."

When Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave her inaugural address as speaker of the House in 2007, she vowed there would be "no new deficit spending." "After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: Pay as you go, no new deficit spending." Source
A story in the Houston Chronicle reports how crime is dropping in the city and someone says, "Nobody knows why it's happened. The effect is really remarkable." No one has a clue as to why crime is dropping. Ahem, maybe it's because most of the criminals are locked up in jail and being kept there for longer sentences.

Ain't it the truth?
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

Classy leftists
The leftist blog, Wonkette, had a classy article recently that mocked the Palin family. The article called Sarah's son, Trig, a gentleman scholar and speculated that Sarah's husband, Todd, may have raped his daughter. The writer and the blog's editor both apologized but only after at least 10 companies withdrew their advertisements on the blog.

Back in 2002 the New York Times stock was $51.50 per share. Thursday it closed at $9.36 per share. I have a few bucks in American Funds New World A (NEWFX). Back in 2002 each share was worth about $22 on average. Today it closed at $56.85 per share.
Filled up today at $3.739 per gallon. Thanks, Obama.
Bush/Cheney/Halliburton raped America several years ago by jacking up gasoline prices to obscene levels. Exposure by the freedom-loving Leftists forced the evil capitalists to lower prices to more moderate levels. That's what all the Leftist blogs were saying anyway. So why are they so silent now? Anybody have a clue? What's changed since then?
Best headline of the day..."Obama to supporters: I understand your frustration"
As far as I can ascertain, Obama has no plans for another vacation in the next week or so. I wonder what's keeping him off the golf course?
Republican Senator John Ensign of Nevada resigned under a cloud of ethics violations. He was previously exposed as an adulterer in years past.
Rush Limbaugh says you don't have to listen to Obama speeches because we've already heard the same old tired phrases from Che Guevara, Mao, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and all the old Soviet leaders.
The more I see of Alan West the more I hope he runs for president.
True or False? To anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal, tell him the truth.
Best definition of totalitarianism ever..."The common face of totalitarianism is not, as cinema often depicts, that of uber-Nazis marching in satanic rows, or of cultured madmen planning the extinction of millions with violin music softly seething in the background. Its quotidian face is one of petty, arbitrary, unappealable abuse. For the average man life under tyranny consists of being precisely zero in a society that can do anything — anything at all — to him." (Richard Fernandez, Belmont Club)

Same as the old boss
Across the Middle East, millions are rebelling against their poverty and lack of freedom, blaming their corrupt leaders, who have ransacked their countries’ treasuries and natural wealth. The objects of vituperation, then, are particular individual autocrats. Few in fits of introspection blame endemic cultural practices such as tribalism, gender apartheid, and religious intolerance as equally responsible for the general misery. A Mubarak, Qaddafi, Ben Ali, King Abdullah, or Assad is thus not a natural expression of a society’s collective values and customs, but supposedly an aberration, and one forced upon Middle Easterners by an array of often sinister foreign interests.
So sometimes the object of protests is a pro-American autocrat, sometimes an anti-American totalitarian. The proverbial "people" are rebelling against juntas, monarchs, collectivized tyrannies, theocrats, and run-of-the-mill dictatorships. No one knows whether new promised plebiscites will lead to constitutional governments or, as in the Iran of 1979–82, a new round of dictatorship. No one knows, either, whether an unbridled Arab Street might in fact prove more illiberal than the old illiberal rulers.

Arizona thriving
Arizona's tough anti-illegal immigration law SB 1070 was enacted into law on June 29 of last year. The Obama administration immediately sued Arizona and got an injunction preventing it from going into effect while the case was litigated. Critics warned that the law would hurt Arizona; no one would want to move to Arizona and illegal immigrants would flee the state, ruining the economy.
The sky-is-falling alarmists were wrong. Results from the 2010 Census reveal that Arizona is the second-fastest growing state in the country after Nevada. Lee McPheters, director of the J.P. Morgan Chase Economic Outlook Center at Arizona State Universitys W. P. Carey School of Business, predicts that Arizona's population will increase by close to two percent this year.
Canadians tired of the cold weather are flocking to Arizona, taking advantage of the weak American dollar and the high number of foreclosures in Arizona. Phoenix has the second highest foreclosure rate in the nation.
People all over the country fought back against the boycotts of Arizona, organizing buycotts and purposely traveling to Arizona to help with tourism. After the Los Angeles City Council issued a resolution against Arizona, Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce sent Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa a letter saying he would be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation. Los Angeles gets 25 percent of its electricity from Arizona power plants.
Governor Jan Brewer set up a legal defense fund to cover the costs of defending Arizona against lawsuits over SB 1070. Close to $4 million in contributions has come in from over 43,000 Americans around the country, more than enough to cover the $1.5 million in costs so far. Meanwhile, taxpayers across the country are stuck footing the bill for the Obama administrations lawsuit.

NAFTA, 16 years later
On January 1, 2010 Americans mourned the sixteenth anniversary of the implementation of the deleterious "free trade" agreement that is the North American Free Trade Agreement, now it is just as important to look back and examine what an utter disaster it has been for the United States.
Proponents of NAFTA asserted that the agreement would create hundreds of thousands of jobs in America, Canada and Mexico. They promised to turn a small trade surplus with Mexico into a huge surplus that would benefit all three countries involved. Illegal immigration would be a thing of the past as jobs in Mexico would be plentiful and lucrative. Free traders talked openly of cheaper goods for American consumers with newfound purchasing power and unprecedented surges in exports to markets never before opened to U.S. products. Of course, none of that panned out and those free trade advocates failed to mention what the biggest U.S. export would be: good-paying American jobs.
"NAFTA is really less about trade than it is about investment," former presidential candidate Ross Perot once said of NAFTA. "Its principal goal is to protect US companies and investors operating in Mexico. The text of the agreement is contained in two volumes covering more than 1,100 pages. Buried in the fine print are provisions that will give away American jobs and radically reduce the sovereignty of the US."

Drug cartels targeting children
Between 2006 and 2010, nearly 1,000 of the victims murdered by drug cartels were under the age of 18. Recently, many of these child victims have been toddlers and infants.
One infant was shot and killed while strapped into a car seat, while another was murdered while his grandmother cradled him in her arms.
In Chihuahua, a state police commander and her 5-year-old daughter were walking to school when both were shot dead by cartel gunmen.
In another case, three young girls between the ages of 12 and 15 were executed in their home in Ciudad Juarez when assassins showed up at their home to kill their father. When they realized he was not home, they killed his three young daughters instead.
Another savage murder involved a 4-year-old girl found dead with a bullet to the chest, slumped over the body of her murdered, bound, and gagged mother.
In these cases, it appears that the children were not victims of circumstance, but were actually targeted by the assassins. A message is being sent: no one is safe, no one will be spared from the violence. The murder of a rival or a law enforcement official is no longer enough; they now will kill children to reinforce fear.

Sierra Club's profitable descent into Leftism
The Sierra Club was once an honorable organization, and not that long ago either. A few decades ago, it was truly bipartisan, as befitted a group trying to protect wilderness. Conservatives were not shunned as members, but were welcomed as part of the team. One example was life-long Republican Dr. Edgar Wayburn, who helped save more than 100,000 acres of scenic wild places during his 103-year lifetime. He was a five-term president of the Sierra Club during the 1960s. But it’s inconceivable that a member of the GOP could be elected to that post in today’s organization, which has been fundamentally corrupted by left-wing political influence and millions of dollars with ideological strings attached.
How corrupt is the Sierra Club today? It has become so debased that it has done nothing to combat the destruction of parts of treasured national parks like Yosemite and Sequoia by invading Mexican drug gangs. The cartels have moved into public lands in the United States and set up toxic marijuana plantations that environmentally degrade protected places that are supposed to remain pristine. But the Sierrans have made a political marriage with open-borders Hispanic Democrats, and maintaining good relations with political allies is now more important than what was once the Club’s prime directive.
The impetus for the loss of integrity was simple greed. In the 1990s, the Club came across a deep-pocketed donor with an interest in the environment, one David Gelbaum, a Wall Street investor who had made hundreds of millions of dollars. He was willing to be a generous funder to the Sierra Club, but with one stipulation. As he was quoted in a Los Angeles Times article ("The Man behind the Land," 10/27/04), "I did tell [Sierra Club Exective Direction] Carl Pope in 1994 or 1995 that if they ever came out anti-immigration, they would never get a dollar from me."

I learn from an email...Obama's plan to balance the budget...More smoke, more mirrors...Print more money...Raise taxes on the productive...Redistribute. Done and done...simple...what is the big deal? Play more golf.
In Texas, 54 percent of legal immigrants and 70 percent of illegal immigrants receive welfare assistance, with illegal immigrants generally receiving benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children, a study has shown. (And Texans are accused of being heartless and cruel)
A 42 year-old woman from Florida was convicted of five counts of sex with a minor and sentenced to 30 years in prison. Consequently, she jumped bail and ran. This week, Denise Harvey was found in Saskatchewan where she immediately sought classification as a refugee from the cruel and unusual punishment of the American justice system. (30 years does seem excessive)
Southerners have funny ways of speaking. I love it when they speak of the Civil War as the "War of Northern Aggression." Ha.

Semen, antidepressant
The president-elect of the American College of Surgeons resigned his position Sunday after weeks of controversy surrounding a Valentine's Day editorial he wrote touting the mood-enhancing effects of semen on women during unprotected sex.
The editorial cited research that found that female college students who had had unprotected sex were less depressed than those whose partners used condoms. It speculated that compounds in semen have antidepressant effects.

Sarah's speech
She was in Wisconsin for a Tea Party meeting on Saturday and delivered the keynote speech. By all accounts, it was well received.
She had this to say to Congress..."We didn’t elect you just to rearrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic. We didn’t elect you just to stand back and watch Obama redistribute those deck chairs. What we need is for you to stand up, GOP, and fight!"
And to the president..."The only future that Obama is trying to win is his re-election. He’s willing to mortgage your children’s future to ensure his own. And that’s not the audacity of hope, that’s cynicism. Piling more debt onto our children and our grandchildren is not courage! No, that’s cowardice."
You betcha.

"Tea Party, my ass"
A financial blogger and ex-CEO credited with being one of the original "founders" of the Tea Party has come out against the movement, saying it has been hijacked by the very people it was protesting and is now obsessed with "guns, gays and God."
In a "message" to the Tea Party Wednesday, Karl Denninger declared that he "ought to sue" anyone who uses the Tea Party name "for defamation."
"Yeah, that's a joke," he writes. "But so are you. All of you. Especially Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr, and douchebag groups such as the 'Tea Party Patriots.'"
Denninger writes: "Tea Party my ass. This was nothing other than the Republican Party stealing the anger of a population that was fed up with the Republican Party's own theft of their tax money at gunpoint to bail out the robbers of Wall Street and fraudulently redirecting it back toward electing the very people who stole all the ****ing money!"

Gen. Sanchez
I swear, sometimes it is difficult to keep up with progressives and Democrats. First they demand an exit from Iraq, and then the most progressive administration in decades starts signaling that they want to stay in Iraq longer than George Bush did. Speaking of Bush, remember when the Left screamed about the "imperial Presidency" because Bush went to war in Iraq without sufficient consultation with Congress? Their champion in 2008, Barack Obama, took us to war in Libya without any consultation with Congress in 2011. Not only that, but the White House openly scoffed at the idea that Congressional approval was necessary at all.
And remember Abu Ghraib, the scandal that the Left used to demand the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and to paint the entire Bush administration as torturers? You know, the one where the ACLU found memos from the commanding general that authorized the use of dogs in interrogations of prisoners held there, which the Left went bonkers over? Guess who the Democrats have apparently picked to run for the open US Senate seat in Texas....

180 lb. wolves?
Over the objections of the Idaho Legislature, the governor of Idaho, and Idaho’s congressional delegation, in 1995 the federal Fish and Wildlife Service introduced 35 Canadian Gray Wolves into central Idaho. A like number of wolves were introduced into Yellowstone Park in Wyoming, just across the Idaho border.
The plan was to protect this population of Gray Wolves such that their numbers would increase to 300 and at least 30 breeding pairs across the three state region of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. The Idaho Legislature, with a gun to its head, agreed to this scheme in a 2002 Wolf Management Plan it ratified; while at the same time passing a resolution stating that its real desire was to remove the wolves from Idaho all together. The DC bureaucrats were going to introduce the wolves no matter what the state of Idaho wanted; and the negotiated 2002 Wolf Management Plan reflected Idaho’s effort to at least have a say in the process.

iPad to blame for killing jobs
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL), who admits to owning an iPad, blames the Apple Inc. product for "eliminating thousands of American jobs."
"A few short weeks ago I came to the House floor after having purchased an iPad and said that I happened to believe, Mr. Speaker, that at some point in time this new device, which is now probably responsible for eliminating thousands of American jobs. Now Borders is closing stores because, why do you need to go to Borders anymore? Why do you need to go to Barnes & Noble? Buy an iPad and download your newspaper, download your book, download your magazine," Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL, Chicago) said on the House floor Friday afternoon.
Ironically, it was only last month that Rep. Jackson was promoting the Apple iPad and Amazon on the House floor.

Out of the woods?
What we're experiencing may be the calm after the storm.
While the U.S. economy continues to struggle, the epicenter of the financial crisis has recovered nicely. Just this week, JPMorgan Chase & Co. announced a 67 percent jump in earnings. The banks, it seems, are back.
Fortunately, we have more than 2,300 pages of new regulation, known as the Dodd-Frank law, to make sure none of what we went through happens again, right?
Don't count on it.
"Dodd-Frank is a good-faith attempt at regulation, but I believe its effectiveness in preventing a similar disaster will be limited," Eric Kolchinsky, a former managing director with Moody's Investors Service, told me earlier this week. "It does not alter the fundamental incentive problems in the financial markets."

Black Hitler of Harlem
The Black Hitler was a Chicago community organizer who moved to New York. Somewhere along the way he picked up a gold lined cape, a purple turban and a stepladder which he used to give speeches outside of the Jewish stores owned by Harlem’s dwindling Jewish community.
The cape and the turban were sometimes combined with Nazi style military shirt and pants, and jackboots, along with a fez, completing the uniform of a man who is remember today as a pioneering labor leader—but was known back then as the Black Hitler. A dagger thrust through his belt completed the ensemble.
In his stepladder speeches, he declared himself the only man who could stop the Jews, accusing them of spreading filth and disease, and called on his followers to tear out the tongue of any Jew they met. He boasted that he was the "only one fit to carry on the war against the Jews" and vowed an "an open bloody war against the Jews who are much worse than all other whites." It was speeches like that which earned him the title, ‘Black Hitler’ and intimidated local businesses into hiring workers from his own private labor union.

Dennis Miller on O'Reilly
I do believe in Darwin, in that I believe in the survival of the fittest to some degree. But here is how it plays out with liberals. If you mention Christ on this side of the aisle, they will bring up Darwin. If you then say, "OK, I believe in Darwin's survival of the fittest," they will then say you should be more Christ-like in your giving.
You know what? I do think people want to give. I think they're getting sick of propping up losers. And I think we've reached a point in history where we have to separate those who break our hearts and deserve it and those who are just screw-ups. This is the Serengeti plain. If somebody is going to perpetually exhibit a limp, they're going to get fed on. That's the vigorish of life. They're going to have to buck up to that bar. That's the way life works.

California invades Texas
A delegation of California lawmakers came to Austin on Thursday looking for answers on how to stem their state's massive job outflow.
The bipartisan group included a dozen state officials, among them Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who have traveled to Texas looking for new ways to bolster the troubled economy in their own state.
A self-styled 'pro-jobs Democrat,' California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom said, 'We are here out of frustration and admiration.'

Holly Graf
Holly Ann Graf is an officer of the United States Navy, holding the rank of Captain. Until January 2010 she was commanding officer of the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Cowpens, a major vessel of the fleet. She was the first woman to command a cruiser in the history of the Navy. Earlier, she had been the first woman to command a destroyer when she served as skipper of the USS Winston Churchill. She holds the Bronze Star, among others
On 13 January 2010, Graf was relieved of command of USS Cowpens by Rear Admiral Kevin Donegan, commander of Carrier Strike Group Five, as non-judicial punishment stemming from an admiral's mast. The punishment followed an investigation which verified allegations of cruelty and maltreatment of her crew, and conduct unbecoming an officer. Graf was found to have violated articles 93 and 133 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice during her tenure as captain of the Cowpens. The investigation was initiated after multiple allegations and complaints of physical and verbal abuse were made to Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Navy Inspector General by members of the crew. Graf was subsequently replaced as the ship's commanding officer by Captain Robert Marin.
The report found that Graf frequently abused members of her crew verbally and physically, creating what one crew member described as "an environment of fear and hostility." She frequently screamed and cursed at her officers and men, and often grabbed junior officers during heated discussions. She also sent a respected petty officer to "time out," standing in the main control room doing nothing.
Graf was also found to have neglected her junior officers, even though the Navy considers training of junior officers to be among a CO's highest priorities. One of them told the IG that Graf said to his face, "I don't have time to train junior officers." She reportedly told an officer who needed her guidance on something, "This is one of the reasons I hate you." When an officer wanted to clear the air about an earlier heated discussion, Graf ordered him to "get the fuck out of my stateroom." She was particularly hard on female officers looking to her as a mentor. When one female officer asked for help, Graf snapped at her, "Don't come to me with your problems. You're a fucking department head." Another said that Graf had called her and another officer "fucking unbelievable" and would have fired them if she had the authority to do so.
Graf claimed she never made such comments, blaming the complaints about her command style on a disgruntled group in the Cowpens wardroom. However, in a follow-up email, she admitted to raising her voice and cursing at times to show she meant business.
Subsequent reports by Time revealed that Graf had a history of abusive treatment of subordinates as far back as her tenure on the Curtis Wilbur. Previous complaints had not been acted upon by Navy leaders. Many who served with her thought she was the closest thing they'd seen to a female Captain Bligh. For instance, while she was commander of the Churchill, a propeller snapped just as it was leaving port, leaving it dead in the water. Graf grabbed the Royal Navy navigator and dragged him to the outdoor bridge wing, screaming, "Did you run my fucking ship aground?" According to chaplain Maurice Kaprow, many Churchill sailors, knowing that Graf's career would have ended if the Churchill had run aground, started jumping for joy and singing Ding-Dong! The Witch is Dead on the fantail. Kaprow later said that the crew's morale was the lowest he'd ever seen in his 20-year naval career. The Churchill's gunnery officer said that Graf frequently spat at other officers and threw things at them—including ceramic coffee cups and binders. Ultimately, the entire crew broke out in cheers when she was relieved in 2004.

Tax time for you suckers
As millions of Americans brace themselves to pay taxes on April 15, millions of illegal aliens get ready to celebrate a cash windfall of up to $5,750 from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Why is this? Ed Rubenstein, president of ESR Research and a former director of research at the Hudson Institute, explains in his recently updated report entitled Defrauding the American Taxpayer - The Earned Income Tax Credit and Illegal Immigration, that illegal aliens are among the chief beneficiaries of the $62.5 billion income transfer scheme known as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
In the report Rubenstein reveals that the IRS knowingly allows illegal aliens to defraud taxpayers by getting cash EITC payments of up to $5,750 for a family of five. The IRS also refuses to implement recommendations from its own Inspector General's office that could stop massive EITC fraud that costs taxpayers as much as $13 billion a year.
Rubenstein also shows how Congress has changed a federal kick-back program intended to supplement the earnings of low income workers, into one that subsidizes parenthood and disproportionately benefits immigrant families as opposed to those of native workers.

Health and wealth
The chairman of Aetna, the third largest health insurance company in the United States, brought in a staggering $68.7 million during 2010. Ron Williams exercised stock options that were worth approximately $50.3 million and he raked in an additional $18.4 million in wages and other forms of compensation. The funny thing is that he left the company and didn't even work the whole year.
The top executives at the five largest for-profit health insurance companies in the United States combined to receive nearly $200 million in total compensation in 2009.
One study found that approximately 41 percent of working age Americans either have medical bill problems or are currently paying off medical debt.
Over the last decade, the number of Americans without health insurance has risen from about 38 million to about 52 million.

GE
Facing criticism over the amount of taxes it pays, General Electric announced it will repay its entire $3.2 billion tax refund to the US Treasury on April 18. GE uses a series of foreign tax havens that the company says are legal and that led to an enormous refund for the 2010 tax year. (Hey, I got $1500 back this year)
CNN is reporting that the dictator of Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo, was offered a professorship at Boston University if he would quit as president of the Ivory Coast. I wonder if Castro was ever offered such a deal? Or the madman from North Korea? Or how about Obama? Ha.
Police in Pakistan have arrested two men for allegedly digging up a newly buried corpse and eating its flesh in a curry. The two brothers are said to have cut the legs from the body of a 24-year-old woman and cooked the flesh in a steel pot. Nancy Pelosi was recently quoted as saying, "Elections shouldn't matter as much as they do." (try telling Obama that)
The question of whether or not there’s a scar on President Obama’s head gained wide attention several days ago due to an article in the UK Daily Mail, where they asked the question: Has the president had brain surgery? Unless there’s some new mobile neurosurgery unit that operates at the turn on golf courses, this is unlikely to have happened recently. More

We are so screwed
The meat of the spending deal struck between the two parties late Friday night was revealed in a legislative omnibus released early Tuesday morning. The specifics show that finding nearly $40 billion in cuts during the 2011 fiscal year required clever accounting and, for the White House, a willingness to concede on rhetoric to find gains on substance.
For example, the final cuts in the deal are advertised as $38.5 billion less than was appropriated in 2010, but after removing rescissions, cuts to reserve funds, and reductions in mandatory spending programs, discretionary spending will be reduced only by $14.7 billion.
